Burns Night at CTI

All Lads and Lassies are invited to help celebrate the 260th birthday of Scottish poet Robert (Rabbie) Burns in the traditional way, with poems, music, stories, discussion of literature and philosophy, Jewish themes, Scotch (John Barleycorn) and (kosher) Haggis! Featuring Professor Sam Baker of the University of Texas English Literature Department, and musical contributions by talented CTI members.

Before returning to academia to take his Ph.D., Professor Baker worked as a journalist and book reviewer, as well as in museums and libraries. These experiences left him something of a generalist, and he maintains broad interests in literature and art, in film and media studies, and in politics. This evening his focus will be on the Bard of Ayrshire!

The celebration will take place at the JCC Room 150C, Motzei Shabbat, January 26th, starting at 8 PM.  This is an adult event.  Cost is $20 per adult for tickets bought in advance, up to 5:43 PM on Friday, January 25th, the beginning of Shabbat. Admission at the door will be $25.  You can reserve a place for the event by completing the form below and paying via credit card.

Sorry, but advanced ticket purchase are no longer available.  You can purchase tickets at B'nai Abraham, Saturday evening, January 26th.  Remember the program starts at 8 PM.
