Rabbi Dovid Egert

Born and raised in Lakewood, NJ, Rabbi Dovid Egert graduated from Adelphia Yeshiva in Howell, NJ. and received an Associates degree from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, NJ, a Bachelor of Science from Excelsior college in Albany, NY, and a Masters of Divinity degree from Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim in Lakewood, NJ.  Rabbi Egert is currently a Chaplain of the Special Troops Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division Sustainment Brigade stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

Rabbi Egeret attended Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership School in the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson, SC in 2017 in the rank of 1st Lieutenant and was promoted to Captain in 2018. Rabbi Egert was awarded the Army Achievement Medal and certificate of Achievement for support of the Black Sea Area Support Unit Ministry team while in Eastern Europe., and the Norweigan Road march foreign Award for memorializing Chaplain Emil Kappaun by completing a 18.6 mile road march.

Rabbi Egert is married to Shira (Klein). Together they have a seven year old son, Ezriel.  Rabbi Egeret is active in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician having been certified in 2004. Rabbi Egert is also a half marathon runner with over fifty completed to date. His goal this year is to finish one per month. Rabbi Egeret is the founder of Bike4chai, the largest fundraising cancer bike ride in the world, raising $10,500,000 annually for Chai Lifeline and over $50,000,000 since its inception in 2009.
